Performance for Millais Gallery, Southampton, 30 minutes
This performance took place on the opening night of the exhibition in the Millais Gallery it pulled together many threads of research and investigation Melody has undertaken in the last year in preparation for Ventilation . Skimpily-clad in a glittering outfit Melody set up a Saturday teatime game-show style performance, the artist called for audience participation from the outset, from an assistant holding up cue-cards with the words Ôcheer' and Ôboo' written and involvement through games such as Ôfamily misfortunes' and Ôname that tune'. Due to this relationship there was an unpredictability to the performance's outcome, the chance that this performance may fail made it all the more intriguing for Melody.
