Punt (2005)

Performed in Oxford as part of the Vent Festival, Ovada Gallery, 5 hours
Victoria Melody highlighted the romantic side of Oxford as part of Vent Festival. Her practice often uses humour to bridge the gap of consciousness endeavouring to deliver art to larger audiences. For her Oxford piece she held up a sign inviting people to punt her down the river. She is very aware that Oxford is a romantic place and feels it is unfair to miss out on opportunities just because she is single.
"Some pastimes such as punting down the river or picnicking in the park are considered romantic pursuits, sometimes single people want to take part too!
I've got a boat so come and share in this newly made accessible experience with me."
