'Messages'

This group exhibition includes newly commissioned work that investigates the theme of 'Messages.' The artists selected were additionally asked to become artists-in-residence for local schools in the area. The work produced by pupils from the residency will be exhibited alongside the artists. I will be exhibiting 'Demographics of Pigeon Fanciers' description below and 'Pigeon Works' work made with pigeon fanciers, St Lukes and Bishop of Winchester School.

I will be showing the film 'Hill Screams' as part of the exhibition 'Baby do you hear me' To coincide with ÔInternational Women's Day 2008' Novas Contemporary Urban Centre presents Baby Do You Hear Me, an exhibition of contemporary female artists working across a range of media. The exhibition offers a cross-cultural space to contemplate the ever-relevant question of gender roles within society.

On Wednesday the 14th of November Cafe Artistique will focus on contemporary artist's film and video as part of Screen 07: Portsmouth Festival of Film and Screen-based Media. Our special guest speaker is Benjamin Cook, Director of London-based LUX, which supports and promotes contemporary and historical artists' moving image work. Benjamin will be joined by performance artist and filmmaker Victoria Melody, who has been invited to produce new work in response to the event.
